At our Thursday morning Zoom meeting, we welcomed many updates!
Ben Coyle from Jewish Family Services was on hand to share about the JFC's efforts in our community following our giving grant. Food services to seniors and financial assistance to families in need continues at this time. In January the JFS provided 1700 meals per day and now, with Covid, they have done up to 16,000 meals per day. Club member Gina Woodward, who has been an active volunteer in food delivery told Ben that she was "blown away by your facility." If you can volunteer or provide financial services, please visit President Jeff also told us about volunteering at the Olivewood Gardens Community Center in National City. Thank you Sophia, Gina and Jeff for representing CVSR! President Jeff also reported that our club collected $1600 in gift cards for the Chula Vista Community Collaborative's Santa Shop last month in our service project, in addition to $220 for Pennies for Polio.
