At tonight’s online meeting we welcomed Jim Quinney from Rise Against Hunger who thanked our Rotary club for packaging 114,000 meals since 2014!

With Covid, we have been in a holding pattern on how to support this outstanding organization, but Jim gave us many facts and new fundraising ideas in his presentation. We learned that Rise Against Hunger is much more than their meal packaging events. In addition to nourishing lives around the globe, Rise Against Hunger also strives to empower communities, provide emergency relief, and grow the movement. Jim shared about one very successful project in Mali, Africa, where the locals have learned about farming, nutrition, gardening and more to improve their hunger challenge and help become sustainable. Rise Against Hunger is now listed as a “Collaborating Organization” on the Rotary Internatiomal website. We look forward to continuing to support the mission of Rise Against Hunger!
