During this week's meeting, we had two informative speakers who shared about our community's effort in helping the environment! Tina Matthias and Carolyn Scofield were on hand to tell us what is happening in Chula Vista.

Tina represents the city's Sustainable Commission and is Director of the South Bay Sustainable Communities non-profit. With a goal to have a positive impact for future generations, Tina shared about the neighborhood programs such as the climate action challenge, monthly food waste logs, composting, and community outreach opportunities.

Carolyn represents the City of Chula Vista Climate Change Working Group. Carolyn explained the clean energy goals the city is striving to meet by 2035. She also explained about the new options for cleaner energy that will be reaching individual homes in 2022. For more information about this program please check out sdcommunitypower.org
