We continued meeting on Zoom this week when we welcomed Nina Douglass from the South Bay Food Pantry which is located at 970 Broadway in Chula Vista. The SDFP is an entirely volunteer organization that has provided food distribution to south bay residents for nearly three years.

Each Saturday morning the South Bay Food Pantry provides fresh produce, bread, frozen meat and dry goods from Starbucks to 275 families. They also hand out diapers for children on Sunday mornings. "We have grown from a tiny entity to a growing demand in our community" Nina stated.  SBFP has partnerships with Feeding San Diego, San Diego Food Bank, and Starbucks.  They also work closely with the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego. If you are interested in volunteering  to assist this community group, please contact their volunteer coordinator at deirdre@deirdre.com.
