This week we welcomed local South Bay resident Chuck Day, President and CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities, to our CVSR meeting. Chuck gave us an update on the activities and services provided to families with children in medical crisis.

Started in 1980 in San Diego,  Ronald McDonald House originally was able to house eight families. This count is now up to 57, with plans for more coming soon. Providing meals, a place to sleep and rest, education, fun activities and more for family members is very valuable in helping families who are going through a very difficult time. Their goal is to keep families close while getting medical care for their children.  CVSR has been involved in the past as volunteers and we hope to get involved once again now that they have re-opened after the pandemic. CVSR stepped up to the plate at our meeting and pooled our wallets together for a $400 on the spot donation. For more information, please visit https://rmhc.org.
