Chula Vista Sunrise Rotarians were pleased to learn about City Hope, a non-profit serving La Mesa and East County. Director Dani Womack joined via Zoom and shared about this valuable group of volunteers who work with community members dealing with crisis and trauma.
Two teams serve one mission by collaborating with key city leaders and service agencies to get resources to those in need. The Rapid Response Team works with first responders and law enforcement and responds to assaults, rapes, death calls, domestic violence, trafficking and more. The School Team works on school campuses in partnership with school administrators to assist students in the aftermath of traumas such as abuse, family issues, mental issues and critical situations.
